Over 35 new titles landed on Relay this week. Here are 6 worth clearing your Thursday night for.

Dimension 20: Dungeons & Drag Queens

It’s Pride Month, and this is the thing you should be watching. Monét X Change, Bob the Drag Queen, Jujubee, and Alaska Thunderfuck sit down at a D&D table with Brennan Lee Mulligan as dungeon master. What happens is exactly what you want it to be and completely unpredictable at the same time. They are playing characters. They are also very much themselves. Nothing else on any platform right now looks like this.

God as My Witness

God as My Witness

Michael Brandner Sr. found love letters from a priest to his brother, who had died by suicide in 1992 at age 29. He followed what the letters pointed to. The trail led to the Archdiocese of New Orleans filing for federal bankruptcy in 2020, after decades of accumulated abuse claims. Director Lindsay Quinn Pitre built her debut documentary from that story. It won Best Documentary at the Winter Park Film Festival and the Audience Award at Tallgrass. It has screened at Raindance in both 2025 and 2026.

Succede in Una Notte

An environmental influencer, live on television, gives out her real phone number. Succede in Una Notte is what the next few hours look like: one night across Rome, a flood of callers who are threatening or unhinged or something harder to read than either. The film swept the 2025 Rome International Movie Awards, winning Best Film, Best Emerging Director, Best Acting Duo, Best Photography, and Best Editing. It moves fast and has something real to say about what happens when the internet gets a direct line.

Samurai Detective Onihei: Blood for Blood

Samurai Detective Onihei: Blood for Blood

The lead and his on-screen younger self are played by a real father and son. Koshiro Matsumoto and Somegoro Ichikawa, both acclaimed across Japanese stage and film, play the same character at different points in his life. When the story is built around family loyalty and the weight of inheritance, having a real father and son inside it adds a layer no script could manufacture. The film adapts Shotaro Ikenami’s bestselling Japanese crime novel series, which has run since the 1960s and produced dozens of adaptations.

The Red Frame

Shot in black and white. A census taker gets a snuff film delivered to his door by accident. The people who made it are politically connected. Going after them is a bad idea and he does it anyway. The Red Frame’s premise is specific enough to feel like it came from somewhere real, and the B&W choice earns its place: it makes the material stranger and more unsettling than color would.

Magoado

The entire film is shot in vertical aspect ratio. It’s a formal choice, not a gimmick, and it does something to how confinement and exposure read in the frame. The story earns it: a man living in hiding in Brazil is confronted by the teenage son he never knew he had. Director Ruben Sainz received critical attention for what the cinematography does to the emotional weight of the story.
